G’day Direct Action – RSP, a friend sent me a copy of DA some time ago now. My name is Jock Palfreeman, an Australian currently enjoying Sofia Central Prison’s hospitality. See freejock.com for further details, or Google. I know that money is a rare commodity. But I would like to know if it’s possible for you to send me DA without cost … for free. Is there a prisoner solidarity mailing list? Up to date issues don’t bother me, I don’t mind receiving old issues, the months before that aren’t needed/wanted. I saw some of [Van] Rudd’s artwork earlier in the year, a friend sent printouts over to me here in prison.
There are other prisoners too who I think would enjoy receiving your paper, not in Bulgaria but Australia, Germany, America for example. Left prisoners are networking (a little) and borders aren’t as important for us as they are for you outsiders. If there’s something you can do for me and for us, please let me know, I won’t give you the address of other prisoners, but if you’re willing to send DA free of charge I can give your details to left prisoners for those interested.
In Bulgaria it’s not so relevant, but if DA gets into prisons in Australia, it’ll go from prisoner to prisoner and roll around reading material for more than one person to see. So it’s not such a bad idea. No one is more pissed off than a prisoner; prisoners experience the violence of capitalism every minute, outsiders only on a weekend rally.
Solidarity, Comrade Jock Palfreeman
[Certainly Jock, Direct Action has a policy of providing free subs to prisoners, so your sub is on its way. In the meantime, we’ve sent you some recent back issues. Please let other prisoners know about our policy. And for those on the outside who would like to support this DA policy for prisoners, any donations would help. If you’re not familiar with Jock’s case, go to the Free Jock website, or see the Freedom for Jock Palfreeman page on Facebook, and spread the word and join any actions. Our solidarity is with you, Jock.]
