Struggle, Solidarity, Socialism evening

Body

A photo exhibition and songs of struggle night will be held in Brisbane on March 27 to raise funds for Direct Action. The “Struggle, Solidarity, Socialism” evening will feature local performers Phil Monsour, Jumping Fences, Ovideo Orellana and Mark Cronin. According to socialist activist and photographer Dod Roshanbin, whose photographs will feature in the exhibition, “this event is a chance to look back at the struggles and movements that are more often than not written out of the history books. The exhibition will feature photos from activist photographers – a view from within the struggle – not the distant view of the corporate journalists which rarely capture the true spirit of the protest movement or the solidarity that arises through joint struggle”. The evening will also feature historic footage of the 1982 land rights protest against the Commonwealth Games.
